A Wedding Ceremony, Castaway Style
Marriage under Fijian law is a two part process.
The first part is the registration of the intent to marry with the Nadi Registry Office. We prefer to organize an appointment for the bride and groom on the first or second day of arrival in Fiji, which will allow for the completion of the Fijian Registry requirements before coming to the island for the wedding ceremony. The Nadi Registry Office is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday, and the appointment will take 15-30 minutes.
It is important to note both the bride and groom will need an original or certified copy of their respective birth certificates as well as their passports. If either were previously married, a copy of their divorce papers or death certificate of the former spouse must also be presented. If either were married within the last five years, a Certificate of Single Status may also be required, and couples are advised to check with the island directly well prior to intended arrival date in this regard.
The second part is a religious ceremony to be held on Castaway Island. Usually the ceremony takes place at sunset on our jetty adjacent to the dining terrace. The minister will be available prior to the ceremony to discuss the wording to be used.

- Donation and return boat transfers for the minister or celebrant
- Use of traditional Fijian wedding attire for the bride, groom and two witnesses
- Wedding decorations, salusalu (lei), flowers, bouquet and boutonniere
- Music by the Castaway Islanders and the Castaway Island family choir
- Castaway Island video memento of the wedding ceremony
- Champagne cruise around the Island, a Castaway tradition
- Candlelit a la carte dinner including a wedding cake for the bride and groom
- His and hers half hour body massages

A Renewal of Vows, Castaway Style
We are pleased to offer the option for couples to reaffirm their love and commitment for one another as the sun sets on the horizon off Castaway Island. Ceremonies may be as formal, or relaxed and informal as desired. The minister will be available prior to the service to discuss the wording to be used.
The services included in the cost are as follows:
- Donation and return boat transfer for Minister
- Tropical floral arrangements including salusalu (lei), bouquet and boutonniere
- Music by the Castaway Serenaders and the Castaway island family choir
- Romantic candlelit dinner for two including anniversary cake
