Malolo Island
Resort is located on the island of Malolo in the Mamanuca
group of islands. The resort is reasonably small, compared
to some of the other Fiji island resorts like Mana or Castaway,
and you may have some trouble getting accommodations for
the dates you want, so book early.
The resort features two pools, one for adults only and one
for the kids. The adults pool has a spa area and a swim
up bar and is located at the base of the terrace restaurant.
The kids pool is located below the adults pool, separated
by a waterfall. It has a sand based shallow end, perfect
for younger kids. The deeper end is tiled and deep enough
for the older kids. Sun lounges surround both pools with
umbrellas to protect from the sun. The shallow sand pool
is also covered by a shade sail.
Kids Club
What's a holiday without some time away from the adults? Malolo takes care of that with a brilliant Kid's Club - Tia's Treehouse. Tia's Treehouse is set back into the hillside under a giant mango tree. It is filled with lots of equipment and games, a fully fenced playground and the happy and smiling faces of our friendly Fijian staff.
Malolo is delighted to introduce its brand new unique and innovative kids club program, "Yanu Yanu". The name
is Fijian for “island” and reflects the theme of the new program which gives kids an opportunity
to literally live like a local Malolo islander for a day, or two or a week during their holiday.
The “Yanu Yanu” program will be run by the Malolo kids club which is free for children 4-12
years. In keeping with offering a quintessential, barefoot Fijian island holiday experience, the
resort has created a new kids activities program which will immerse them in a fun, innovative and
educational way into island life and will include a focus on the environment, the culture and the
history of Malolo Island and Fiji in general.
“Yanu Yanu” is a 7 day program with each day focussing on a different theme ie Marine and
Natural Environments, Fijian Culture, Coconut Trees, Tradition, Fijian Food and Arts and Crafts.
Some of the activities in which the kids will participate are: herbal medicine and endangered
species tours, fish feeding, traditional costume making and face painting, Fijian language lessons
and visits to the local island primary school and neighbouring islands.
During the course of the program, the children will keep a daily pictorial and written diary of
their activities which will ultimately become a type of “school project” that they can take back
home for “show and tell”. There will also be daily winners of competitions offering prizes and
certificates of participation for everyone.
The “Yanu Yanu” program is free with some small charges for optional, parental approved
motorised activities.
Please Note: Supervised kids club is complimentary strictly for children between the ages of 4 to 12. Tia's Treehouse is not equipped to cater for children under 4 years and a private baby sitting service can be arranged at the Resort for F$8 per hour.
