Situated on the tip of Taveuni on its breathtaking shoreline is MATEI POINTE. Situated on the gorgeous SomoSomo Straits, snorkeling awaits you right outside your front door. The only property with a 220-degree view. You'll find yourself literally on the tip of the garden island with private beaches to awaken you daily by the morning sunrise and another to wind down each day by the dramatic sunsets and moonscapes.

You'll be hard pressed to leave your deck as you overlook the manicured lawn to the jetty where you can view colorful tropical fish, take a refreshing swim in the shallow crystal clear waters or rock yourself in the hammock with a good book. It's the perfect spot to cool off with a refreshing drink while watching the sunset over the turquoise water.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
A large, comfortable, main house,"The Beach House" coupled with three cozy, self-contained, bures (cottages) outline the tip of Taveuni in the town of Matei. The four traditional structures are private, quiet and a good distance from each other. They all share the outrageous views of the beautiful Somosomo Straits, peaceful tranquility and the unmatched hospitality of Pita and Lo.

A grand, main house coupled with three cozy, self-contained, bures (cottages) outline the tip of Taveuni in the town of Matei. The 4 traditional structures are private, quiet and a good distance from each other. They all share the outrageous views of the beautiful Somosomo Straits, peaceful tranquility. The main house has 2.5 large bedrooms, 2 baths. For the nature lovers that frequent Matei Pointe, one bath has an all-stone, private outdoor shower. A full kitchen with all the amenities (Scott owns restaurants) beckons the cook. The huge living room opens to 2000 sq. ft. of decks wrapped around the perimeter of the home. Louvered floor to ceiling windows let the tropical breezes flow through while keeping you cool along with the many ceiling fans. The decor is colorful, traditional, classy,upscale and fully renovated in 2003. Large Fijian rugs adorn the tiled floors and there is both 110v and 220v electricity 24 hours a day. ** Remodeled in 2004.

The newest of the beachfront bungalows, the Sunset Bure, sits directly over the western beach. Built in 2000, the Sunset bure is spacious, comfortable, equipped with a kitchenette and large, inviting deck. Guests spend countless hours nestled in the outdoor, built-in sofa strategically situated on the deck for awe-inspiring views overlooking the crystal clear straits.

The Somosomo bures are spacious beachfront, fully equipped cottages. Each large bure sits on the waters edge with queen size bed, kitchen, living area and porch perfectly suited for sunrise, sunset and moonscape viewing. Perfect accommodations for the small family and/or cooking enthusiats

Swing in a hammock, cruise in the resort's kayak, sit under the mango tree, kickback listening to Pitas' music or all of the above. Swim to another island, watch the colorful fish, or catch a few for dinner. Taveuni is magic and Matei Pointe puts you at the tip of it all.
