ACCOMMODATIONS...
Beachfront Bures - "Authentic-style"
best describes the 5 beach bures (pronounced 'boo-ray'
in Fijian) that have been meticulously and artfully
constructed near the water's edge. Every bure
is oceanfront and has fabulous ocean views with
the main island of Fiji visible on the horizon.
Each bure has a covered porch in front where you
can sit and enjoy the sweet, refreshing ocean
breezes. Papageno's unique and spacious accommodations
blend island charm and modern comfort all just
steps from the beach. Each of the five bures are
tastefully decorated with Fijian masks, bark 'tapa'
cloth and grass mats which accent the cool polished
wood floors. Large screened windows with wooden
louvers give guests full access to the breathtaking
ocean views and gentle floral scented breezes. Four
of our five beachfront bures have a queen-size
bed and one single bed, while the fifth one accommodates
three extra persons apart from the queen-size
bad, so it is ideal for large families.
Jungle Villa Room - The Jungle
Villa is a unique accommodation in Fiji. It is
situated some 100 meters from the beach, alongside
a seasonal creek of Papageno`s beautiful gardens.
It is lying underneath of a gigantic Ficus tree,
with its long, roofed veranda overlooking the
creek and the gardens on the other side. The Villa
has four rooms, accessible from the same terrace.
The two side rooms can accommodate three, while
the two middle rooms accommodate four guests.
Each room has an excellent, highly comfortable
bathroom and the rooms are furnished with the
luxurious Pacific Green coconut furniture. Apart
from the beds, there is a coconut writing desk
in each room, cabinets for cloth and additional
shelves. Each bed has reading lamps and the desk
has its own light.
Dining
We offer full restaurant service, but not "a
la carte". We usually serve family-style
meals that include crystal clear drinking water
from our own springs and fresh fruit juices. Our
food is organic, but not only vegetarian. Organic
means that almost everything we serve, we serve
it completely free of chemicals and absolutely
fresh. Whether it is time for lobster, sandcrabs,
sushimi or some kind of fish, it is all coming
from our seas. Your breakfast eggs, your pork
and chicken is also fresh from the Resort, such
as all the vegetables, except potatoes and onion
(these do not grow here). At lunch, tea time and
dinner, you hear a Fijian drum rhythm that tells
you the meals are served...
Breakfast: 8:00-10:00 a.m.
We offer a large breakfast
that starts with a fruit plate, then you can have
fresh bread baked at the Resort, toast, different
kinds of home-made jams, peanut-butter and margarine,
pancake or other cakes with cocoa, then you can
have eggs (fresh from our farm) made the way you
wish to eat. Tea and coffee is served from 7:30am
- you can choose from about 5 different labels
of tea.
Lunch: 1:00 p.m.
We serve a hot and full meal for lunch that
usually starts with a huge plate of fresh salad
from the garden, followed by a tasty local specialty
or some well-known international plate.
Tea time: 4:00 p.m.
At teatime we serve typical afternoon tea labels
for our guests, together with our specially
designed and baked cakes and biscuits.
Dinner: 7:00 p.m.
Dinner is hearty and plentiful, based on local
ingredients from our garden and from the clear
seas around Papageno Resort. It is also the
time for lovely conversations and a couple of
beers, a glass of wine or a nice Fijian cocktail.
It is the best time to begin conversations with
our staff, which are more than happy to answer
all of your questions. In our dining room, our
guests find a small fridge. This is always filled
with cold drinking water and fresh juice. Any
time you are thirsty, please feel free to drink
from the fridge. There are always glasses next
to it and there is no extra charge. If you have
dietary requests, please inform the managers
and they will do everything possible to meet
your needs. The family style service allows
our guests to eat well, so in case you feel
ready for another plate or some extra portion
of a meal that you really liked, please feel
free to ask for it.
YOGA
Papageno Resort runs the only
meditation center and yoga retreat in Fiji!
Remote natural beauties, the sounds of the ocean
and our birds, locally produced organic meals,
healing activities and thought-provoking cultural
aspects. These are the key elements of Papageno`s
yoga and meditation center, built right on the
beach of our beautiful property. This thatched-roof
Fijian building is open from three sides (screened)
- ensuring cool temperatures all day long and
making you relax by the sounds of the ocean
waves.
Yoga groups primarily occupy
our meditation center, but we also accommodate
groups of religious meditation, tantra, body
& spirit healing programs and basically
all sorts of workshops and activities.
