Our small, intimate dive groups ensure you receive the personalized
attention you deserve from expert divemasters and crew, who will
show you spectacular sites not visited by any other boats. You
may even get to discover the wonders of previously unexplored
sites. For the uninitiated, Yasawa offers the ideal learning facility,
with two expert instructios providing one-on-one attention, if
required. But whatever your ability, Yasawa assures you of an
unforgettable diving experience.

No crowds, no other dive boats at any of the sites. And nothing
for you to do except delight in this underwater paradise. Staff
set up and prepare everything on our spacious, purpose-built dive
boat. Our experienced, knowledgeable crew make sure divers with
special interests such as photography get to see spectacular sights
like lionfish and nudlbranches. And since we are still explolring
reef areas, you may even have the opportunity to ‘discover’
new sites yourself, if time and conditions allow.
TAKE THE PLUNGE WITH PADI DIVE COURSES.
ACTIVITIES:
Yasawa Island Resort’s PADI accredited dive centre offers
dive courses from Beginner to Assistant INstructor. The beginer
‘Discover Scuba’ program is a free, two-hour pool
lesson offered any day as an introduction to diving. From there,
guests may do a ‘Discover Scuba Dive’ course in open
water with either of the resort’s instructors, then make
guided dives during their stay without further training, just
for fun.
COURSES:
CERTIFICATION IS AVAILABLE, WITH TWO OPTIONS:

PADI Scuba
Diver - 2.5 day course providing limited certification that
qualifies divers to dive guided
-
PADI Open
Water - 5 day course that qualifies divers to full open water
level to dive with a buddy but without a guide.
Both entry-level certifications
are internationally recognised.
Guests wishing to dive must show proof of certification, i.e.
their ‘C’ card.
If the card has been lost, a free web check can be done if certified
with the PADI system. Failing this, the guest can do the Discover
Scuba Dive program (pool session and dive with instructor) so
that they can get diving during their stay.

IN SAFE HANDS WITH WORLD CLASS INSTRUCTORS.
Like every activity at Yasawa Island Resort, learning to dive
is a supremely pleasurable exerience. Our highly qualified instructors
guarantee it by training only small groups where learners receive
all the individual attention they need. Our senior instructor,
Sandy Watts, has 10 years industry experience and has been teaching
in Fiji for the past six years. Her South Pacific diving experience
extends to New Zealand, Tonga and Vanuatu, and she has also worked
in the Red Sea, Egypt. Sandy’s Instructor Development Course
(IDC) Staff Instructor qualification rates her as very senior
in her field. To attain this rating, several courses beyond Open
Water Instructor had to be completed, including Medic First Aid
Instructor, Speciality Instructor and finally, the IDC Staff Instructor
qualification.
WE
MAKE IT EASY TO GET DIVING!
At Yasawa Island Resort, our Dive Shop stocks a range of accessories
such as masks, snorkels, safety sausages, waterproof fish identification
books, slates and t-shirts. We can arrange for the purchase of
larger items, such as fins and dive computers, through our Nadi
supplier. Guests can bring their own gear, however if you’re
concerned about weight restrictions, we recommend that you leave
heavier equipment such as fins, wetsuit and BCD and just bring
your regulator and mask. With no extra charge for equipment hire,
it makes sense to use our gear. We hire full foot (no booties
required) Mares fins, Sherwood BCD’s and regulators fitted
with safety equipment, with Uwatec bottom timers and gauges. click here for Diving rates
